The severity of the disease varies. This may be a mild nuisance, disturbing a peaceful night's sleep or the symptoms of a more serious progressive disease called sleep apnea. History of snoring can occur before more severe sleep disorders occur, including excessive daytime sleepiness, memory impairments, morning headaches, poor job performance, and diminished libido.
Although snoring itself is not life-threatening, it can interfere with the sleep of the sleeper and also affect the ability of the partner to obtain high quality sleep. Scientific research has found that snorers’ partners lose an hour of sleep every night due to nuisance.
