How the Triodent V3 Ring solves restorative issues

How to use this segmented matrix system to ensure good contact and contours for each repair.

Contact details and outlines: Two very important parts of each direct restoration performed by dentists around the world. When placing any direct repair material in a dental preparation that involves a proximal box, the problem is usually how to get the best contact and contour in the final restoration? The matrix used and how it is placed are critical to the overall success of recovery.

There are many matrix tapes and fasteners in the dental market, including the circumference, Toffler type retainers and cross-section matrix tapes. Everyone has their own position and effective use in dental clinics, and it is valuable to have each of these types in the daily work of the office.

One of the cross-sections we use in my office is the V3 ring by Triodent®, which is issued by Ultradent dental supplies Inc. This "go-to" system has unique "V" shaped teeth to help ensure that the fixed place is equal to holding pressure in the wedge The depressions of the adjacent teeth and provide the best separation force to help create a continuous, close contact. These V3 rings have very high strength and stability, and reliable long-term use has become the highlight of these products. They can basically "squeak" - they work well even after repeated use and repeated autoclaving.

The design and resiliency of the Triodent NiTi ring structure provides the best spring strength, while the "V" fiberglass reinforced plastic tip enables a good adjustment around the wedge. These rings are "stackable" and there are two types: a universal (green) V3 ring for large teeth and a narrow (yellow) ring for small teeth. Of course, the V3 ring can be autoclaved. They also have a blue plastic disposable type, which is designed for single use. They provide the same wonderful results as their sister's V3 ring, but they are disposable.

The V3 profile label matrix has a distinct ridgeline at the occlusal edge of the matrix, which helps create a very natural Class II composite restoration that helps to restore a quick and easy dressing of the area. In addition, the outline of the matrix helps to develop the final contour of the restoration very well. They are ultra-thin (30 microns) but very powerful. In addition, the tabs of the matrix snap can be placed in the V3 section

Easy to place matrix strips with Triodent Pin-Tweezers. The sizes of the matrices range from 3.5 mm to 7.5 mm and they are also of the SuperCurve and ClearMetal type.

The SuperCurve matrix is color-coded, so the difference in size is very simple, and they have a non-stick coating that makes it easier to remove the matrix. The extra curve size also helps us to operate the wider buccal-lingual extensions of some Class II restorations and again ensures that the operator has excellent contact and a good contour of the final restoration.

The ClearMetal matrix is a very unique matrix strip. They are the only transparent metal substrate strips. They have hundreds of transparent resin-filled miniature windows that allow light to pass through the substrate while curing, but they have the same strength and functionality as the SuperCurve matrix of the Tab matrix or V3 ring system. Due to the transparent resin-filled coating in the micro-windows, they do not easily fall off and can form a super smooth interproximal surface. You can be sure that you have a fully cured composite of these matrices, because light is easily passed through ClearMetal's windows, with good contact and a beautiful silhouette.

One of my favorite features of the TriodentTM V3 Ring system is WedgeGuard's preparation of wedges. These wedge guards help prevent injuries and injuries caused by rotating the dental equipment on adjacent teeth during preparation. When ready, simply pull down on the metal shield and slide the V3 matrix strip next to WedgeGuard's remaining Wave-Wedge wedge. Apply the appropriate V3 Ring and restore. It's that simple. The Wave-Wedge has a good anatomical design that allows the matrix to be easily secured in place, seals the hernia margin of the restoration and protects the interdental papillae. Its triangular profile is as good as the V3 ring and can interlock wedges and V3 rings.

After installing the V3 Ring in our office equipment, it helped me solve many interesting and complex repair problems because it was very flexible and made post-level II repair work more predictable and reliable.
