The oral health of women depends on their different stages of life. For many women, these changes are directly related to the surge in sex hormone levels, such as adolescence, menstruation, pregnancy, lactation, and menopause. Women are also more likely to be diagnosed with temporomandibular joints, myofascial pain, eating disorders, and Sjogren's syndrome (causing dry mouth).
As a woman, you need to maintain good oral hygiene. Make sure to brush your teeth with fluoride toothpaste at least twice a day and try to brush your teeth after every meal and clean the floss thoroughly daily. To help avoid problems, the dentist may ask you to see you more often during changes in hormone levels.
