Teens: Want a Brighter Smile?

Although tooth whitening may be one of the safest, non-invasive and cost-effective methods for adolescents to immediately enhance their appearance, parents should learn about the best whitening options for their teens, according to reports, General Dental College of Dentistry (AGD) is committed to Continuing Education.

Teeth whitening is a multi-million-dollar industry, with some image-conscious young people visiting malls to buy instant, self-made teeth whitening tools, many of which are on the market and are not subject to dentist supervision.

“Adolescents should go to their dentists instead of shopping malls to buy a healthy, white smile,” AGD spokesperson Manuel Cordero, DDS, MAGD said that his teenage patient’s request for this procedure continues to increase.
Proper whitening depends on the use of custom bleaching trays, and only the dentist can properly install it. Some internet companies sell materials that allow consumers to make their own whitening trays. However, only dentists can ensure the correct use of these materials. Without supervision and expertise, these materials may harm existing dental work. As with any dental surgery, whitening should always be performed under the supervision of a dentist.
