Oral cancer is most common in people over the age of 40. If you notice a red or white plaque on your gums or your tongue, go to the dentist immediately and watch for ulcers that fail to heal within two weeks. Unfortunately, oral cancer is often difficult to find early because it is easy to cure. Your dentist can perform head and neck examinations to screen for signs of cancer.
