Nursing Home Oral Health Care?

Raising awareness of health care providers and caregivers There are many things that can be done to ensure that older people get good oral health care, mainly by evaluating the patient's mouth.

Before choosing a nursing home for the elderly, relatives and relatives should ask about the dental care quality and consistency of the facility. Important questions include:

Is there a dentist on call at home?
Is nursing home staff trained in basic oral care?
Are employees trained for oral problems?
Does nursing home workers emphasize oral care at least once a day?
If staff or home administrators cannot say 'yes' to each of these questions, then a red flag should go up.
