As long as the sealant remains intact, the tooth surface will not rot. The sealant stays good under normal chewing and usually takes several years to reapply. The risk of attenuation after sealant application is significantly reduced. During your regular dental checkup, your dentist will check the condition of the sealant and reapply it if necessary.
