Is there a way to prevent a toothache?

The key to preventing toothache is to establish a regular oral hygiene program and stick to it. For example, irregular brushing and flossing after a meal can significantly increase your risk of tooth decay. After eating, the bacteria in the mouth feed on sugar and starch and produces acid that can "eat" the pores (or cavities) in the enamel. If the cavity is not filled, it will cause considerable pain and may damage the nerves of the dentin, pulp and teeth.

Here are some tips to help you reduce the risk of toothache:

Brush at least twice daily, preferably after each meal and snack.
Floss is taken once a day to prevent gum disease.
Visit the dentist twice a year for verbal examinations and professional cleaning.
