You are late for work, do not have breakfast, during the commute, pick up donuts and a cup of coffee, you are on the road. This common quick breakfast option extends the time in a dental chair, and the General Dental School (AGD) is reportedly a general dentist dedicated to continuing dental education.
The sugar in donuts has been identified as a risk factor for gingival inflammation and tooth decay. AGD report findings show that the sugar content of oat crackers only one-fifth of the average sugar donut particles.
The amount of sugar and cream in coffee also has a direct impact on the number of bacteria that cause the cavity. The tannins found in coffee attack the enamel's pits and grooves, creating a rough smudged surface.
