Mild tooth wear is not always obvious, which is why people often don't know why. Severe wear may be more pronounced and sometimes painful. If you look very serious, you will notice that shorter, look more flat teeth, sharper edges, may appear more yellow (if the lining of the teeth was exposed, then there will be more yellow).
Usually you notice slight uneven or jagged teeth at the end of the tooth, as a result of fragmentation. Other times the teeth begin to look rounder (the same sand wears away the rock and makes it smoother). You may also feel sore facial muscles, especially when you first wake up in the morning.
