Cooking causes bones to divide and if swallowed can cause problems. Having a bone is actually the best dental tool you can find. Does this replace the veterinarian's teeth cleaning? No, if your cat has dental plaque and other dental problems, having bones won't do any good. Most veterinary cleaning is effective year-round, but if you can do that and start taking care of your teeth, you can avoid them for a long time.
