You need to submit an accident report to your employer. When did these documents happen, how did it happen, the patient's name, the DOB, the patient's history, the witness, and so on. If the spilled area is bleeding, you need blood tests at a local hospital to check for infectious diseases, such as hepatitis b and hepatitis c, and HIV. Your employer should pay the price.
I wouldn't be worried if it wasn't bleeding.
