Most dentists recommend removing excess teeth because they can cause problems. Regezi's oral pathology textbook states:
The meaning of excess teeth is that it takes up space. When they are impacted, they may block the eruptions of other teeth, or they may cause delayed eruptions in adjacent teeth or cause enlarged pores. If more fresh teeth erupt, they may cause dentition and may be aesthetically offensive.
Because they can cause problems, it's usually a good idea to remove extra teeth.
