Oral and maxillofacial surgeons are dentists specializing in oral, facial, and jaw surgery. Four years after the dental school, the surgeons received four to seven years of hospital surgery and medical training. They performed a variety of operations for them, including various operations on the face, the bones and soft tissues of the mouth and neck.
