Should all children have dental sealants?

If your child's back teeth do not have pits and grooves, care should be taken to prevent tooth decay. If your child does have hard-to-reach deep pits and grooves with toothbrush bristles, sealants will help prevent tooth decay.
Although sealants provide some physical protection for your child's teeth, they do not replace the right diet, ongoing dental hygiene programs, and regular dental visits.
