Nobel Biocare expands CAD/CAM offering

The dental equipment includes a new desktop scanner, DTX design software and greater workflow flexibility.

On the 22nd to 24th of the Chicago Dental Association (CDS) midwinter session and February 23-24 on the day of LMT Labor Day, Nobel Biocare launched a new expanded CAD/CAM product designed to increase treatment partners Flexibility and connectivity. Along with the introduction of the new KaVo LS 3 desktop scanner, these events also feature DTX Studio design software, which provides dental laboratories with workflow flexibility, treatment collaboration and an exciting expansion of business possibilities.

In close cooperation with KaVo, the new KaVo imaging device and DTX Studio software were announced for the first time at the 2017 International Dental Show (IDS), making this new product possible. The two leading dental innovation companies will continue to develop new equipment and software solutions to pursue digital treatment workflows that run through clinics and laboratories.

New desktop scanner starts digital journey with speed, color and precision

LS 3 Desktop Scanner To increase efficiency, the new KaVo LS 3 desktop scanner seamlessly interfaces with the DTX Studio design for rapid recovery planning. Dental technicians can save time without compromising quality – even in the most complex situations, a complete jaw scan can be performed in 60 seconds with an accuracy of up to 4 μm (according to ISO 12836). It is equipped with an optical system that captures the fine texture and color of the dental model for true visualization. The scan can be managed directly on the scanner itself using its intuitive 5-inch touch screen. Work can also be simplified with a spacious and open design, convenient use cases, and a full articulator can be installed to increase the efficiency of the dental laboratory.

Really integrate digital ecosystem and always connect dental world

The DTX Studio ecosystem will provide exciting new solutions for modern dental professionals and the entire treatment team at every stage of dental implant therapy. It will collect from patient imaging to diagnosis, plan, implant surgery, repair and subsequent integration of the latest technology and equipment. This includes 2D and 3D data from X-rays and light sources, designed to manage image-based information through a single piece of software in practice. DTX Studio Clinic will handle data on dental-related workspaces and is geared towards everyday use, working seamlessly with Windows® and MacOS®. This provides users with simple and efficient tools; one example is the online collaboration designed by NobelClinician and DTX Studio for the lab, whereby TempShell can be temporarily produced internally for temporary provisioning of instant screw reservations of the day.

For dental laboratories, the DTX Studio ecosystem offers a new opportunity to become the “going-to” laboratory of the future, offering flexibility in selecting work processes and business models. DTX Studio Design Software will receive Intraoral Scan Files® from systems such as Trio, iTero®, and 3DTM from other desktop scanners, as well as files from Ruthenium DentalTM. In addition, the laboratory owners will benefit from two of the best in the world: "Direct access" to high-quality NobelProcera's concentrated manufacturing of products, including bars and "open outputs", with the option of producing cement-retained restorations in-house. NobelProcera
