Some patients may experience tooth sensitivity when using tartar control toothpaste, but the good news is that when they stop using toothpaste, sensitivity disappears.
“Dentists and hygienists often advise patients to use tartar control toothpaste, especially after cleaning, to help prevent tartar build-up that may lead to gum disease,” said Dental Cutler spokesman William Cutler. "But after using dental calculus to control toothpaste, about 10% to 20% of patients complain about tooth sensitivity, so we advise them to stop using it."
