What Is Tooth Erosion?

Dental erosion or tooth wear is a loss of tooth structure. Basically, dental erosion refers to the wear of hard parts of your teeth, which is called enamel.
Many people eat carbonated drinks, fruit juices and high-acid foods every day, but may not realize that they may harm their teeth. Acids in the foods we eat and drink can cause enamel to wear, make teeth sensitive, crack and discolor.
