The incidence of vaginal cavity infection and oral thrush is approximately 7 to 10 days after infection by Candida. This is the only case of infected hosts spreading to decolonized individuals. After the neonatal period, the development of candidiasis reflects the overgrowth of the existing Candida yeast flora.
