How Do Health Care Professionals Diagnose a Toothache?

Medical history and physical examination usually indicate the appropriate diagnosis. Sometimes X-rays are often called X-rays and can be used with other diagnostic tools. Panoramic x-ray and cone-beam computed tomography views are used to further evaluate the teeth and bones of the entire mouth and skull. Occasionally, laboratory assessments, including heart electrocardiograms, will help doctors. If the cause is not a dental or jaw problem, the doctor may prescribe drugs for the problem. If the condition is more serious, the doctor can let the patient go to the hospital for further care. The patient may be referred to a dentist for further treatment.
