Digital Impressioning Helps Me Be a Better Dentist

Dr. Simon Kold at the Herning Planting Center has been using the 3Shape TRIOS scanner since 2011, and he can not return to the traditional impression. Dr. Kold believes that since he started working with TRIOS, his preparation and the end result have improved dramatically. This technology has taken his business to new heights. Dr. Kold said: "IUDs help me give my patients better dental care.

What made you shift from traditional impression to digital impression?
Since 2005, our clinic has been committed to implant surgery. With the advent of new dental equipment technologies, we have seen the potential to combine digital impressions with CBCT scans to ensure accurate and aesthetically pleasing implant treatments.

What makes TRIOS stand out?
With other oral scanners, I need to keep my hand completely stable while scanning. TRIOS allows you to move more naturally. You can stop and start scanning again or even rescan the selected area and merge it into a complete impression image.

Digital impression in terms of accuracy?
Using the TRIOS system, I successfully completed a maxillary reconstruction using 14 new teeth - all based on a digital impression. The scanning and lab workflow ran smoothly and all 14 teeth slipped in without any adjustments while in the seat.

Is your clinic adaptable to new technologies?
One thing that surprised me was that everyone was excited about this new technology. Installing and using digital impression systems has made us better and still is turning our business and careers into new directions. The technology also caught the patient's attention. I think they like it.
Treat yourself with the best equipment in the best of modern facilities.

"Get started now and keep you ahead of the game. It's an important investment, but saving time, money and, most importantly, helping to develop the clinic's image, dental skills and business success."
What is the learning curve?
The more you use, the better you get. The first day we received this system, we scanned 6 patients in a row, and 3Shape experts gave instructions. Because the TRIOS system is very intuitive, our assistants often scan like a dentist.
As an experienced user of oral scanning, what do you think is the key advantage?
Accuracy is significantly better. The other benefit is being able to do things during the impression rather than extra steps. For example, shadow measurement and shooting high-definition photos.
Does digital impression make you a better dentist?
The complete digital workflow provided by TRIOS has made us a better provider of implant cases that represent our core business. Digital impressions combined with CBCT scans are used for virtual implant placement, repair models, and design low-cost surgical guides that can be digitized on 3D printers.
Does the technology bring any cost benefit to patients?
A good option for TRIOS is that we can make a crownless crown with full zirconium and e.max. Skipping the physical model makes the workflow faster and cheaper, allowing us to replace traditional crown treatments. This accommodates patients who choose to save money by choosing comprehensive compensation.
Do you have any suggestions for dentists still considering digital dental supplies technology?
