• Like many other eating disorders, pica tastes abrasive and highly corrosive ingredients into the mouth. Chalks, dirt and other formulations enamel faster and faster with all tooth structures.
• Pica is usually caused by iron deficiency, but when the patient consumes substances such as clay, they bind to iron receptors in the gastrointestinal tract. This will make it harder for any iron to be absorbed, thereby worsening and further eating disorders.
• If the disease or other illness is not detected and intervened promptly, the tooth is most likely to fall off due to eating disorders that continue to occur.
