What is the Air abrasion?

Air abrasion is the process used to remove small areas of decay or to place teeth for repair or sealant. This process uses air compression devices to deliver tiny alumina particles under pressure onto the surface of the tooth structure to eliminate decay. This is similar to blasting buildings.
As air is worn out, discomfort is minimized, and many patients do not require any anesthesia. If available, horrible needles, noise or vibration of regular handpieces for children and adults may prefer this option. Air abrasion can not be used as an alternative to each program.
