Dental hygienists assist the dentist in treating patients. They use prevention, education and treatment to control oral diseases to help individual patients and groups achieve and maintain oral health. They are a licensed quasi-professional, oral health education and clinical operator.
Dental hygienist is trained to do specific clinical procedures to prevent dental disease. They work under the supervision of the dentist.
Education and counselling children and adult dental health, platelet control, oral hygiene and nutrition;
Remove sediment and stains from the teeth by removing rust and root planing;
To assist in the prevention and control of caries and gum disease;
Select and use appropriate fluoride treatment and polishing tooth repair;
Public and treatment of dental x-rays;
Study the patient's oral cavity and study it;
Select and size teeth braces (braces) and remove orthodontic lines;
Application and clearance of periodontal bags; and
Instruct client to check teeth and mouth after operation.
Dental hygienists are not allowed to practice in private practice, but must work under the supervision and guidance of the dentist. They work in private clinics, community health centres, dental hospitals and regional clinics. Qualified dental hygienists should not have difficulty in finding a job.
