By using pressure to improve the temperature of the sealing shell, the work is automatically pressed. Water is introduced to help absorb heat, because water delivers heat more efficiently than dry air. Generally, temperatures need to increase to about 121 degrees Celsius over a period of time. It's usually about 15-20 minutes. The increase of pressure helps steam temperature rise above its ignition point (vaporization point). This moist hot air can kill bacteria.
