Digital x-rays do not require as much radiation as old x-rays. One bright spot!
Also, with the digital x rays, they can be amplified and the contrast can be changed. Compared with the old X-ray, if it was shot at a lower contrast, it would never be altered, which means it has lower diagnostic capacity.
As a response to another answer - I know (not just think) that some doctors are afraid of being sued, they spend a lot of x-rays to cover their butts. It's not about money. Believe me -- I hate it, I hate to accept x-rays, so I talked to 99% of people, so I took as little as I could!
I think every skilled dentist (I think all dentists are skilled, or they won't be in their place) is good for old-fashioned dentists. The Numbers are just a small step up. Using the old, you have to have developers, fixer, separate leadership support when done, they can't be reused. It's great to use them -- if you choose between flying coaches or first class, what would you choose? Both seats can get you to the same place, but a better one.
