Heikki Kyostila, President of Planmeca Oy, said: "with the support of the Japanese government, we find that there are temporary dental clinics in the northeast." "We are willing to contribute to the reconstruction of this area affected by the tsunami." With the modernization of these dental facilities, high-quality dental care is available to people in crisis areas.

Planmeca is the market leader for dental imaging devices - panoramic, oral and 3D imaging units. Planmeca ProMax 3D digital imaging device aims to obtain detailed information about the anatomy of a patient. The unit meets a variety of diagnostic requirements: dental pulp, periodontal disease, orthodontics, skin grafts, dental and maxillofacial surgery, and TMJ analysis.
The purpose of Planmeca ProMax 3D s unit is to imaging a smaller field of vision: imaging sizes are best suited for single implant and wisdom teeth, as well as implant surgery and orthodontic treatment.
"All planetary imaging units are in line with dental best practices," Kyostila said. The 3-d unit's pulse x rays, coupled with a short rotation scan, almost eliminate artifacts and improve image quality. Planmeca's patent, computer-controlled SCARA (selective hinged robot arm) technology allows multiple imaging procedures.
The donation will be conducted on May 26-28, 2011, in cooperation with the distributor of Planmeca at the 18th international conference on radiology and facial radiology, held in Hiroshima, Japan. The temporary dental clinic is expected to be established in northeast China in June 2011.
