X-ray detection is based on multiple methods. The most common methods are photographic plates, X-ray films in cassette tapes, and rare earth screens. Whatever the "capture" image is, they are classified as "image receptors".
Before computer and digital imaging, a plate was used to make imaging images. These images are produced on glass plates. However, the film replaces the plates and is used in hospital production images. However, computer and digital radiology have begun to replace film. Nevertheless, film technology is still used in industrial radiological processes (check weld). Photographic plates are a part of history, and their alternatives (enhanced screens) are now part of the same history. Silver is an irreplaceable resource and has been replaced by digital (DR) and computer (CR) technology. If the film needs a wet treatment facility, these new technologies won't. The archive of these new technologies also saves space for facilities.
