Dental x-rays have improved a lot in the last few years, and there is very little scattered radiation from the technology and equipment used now. This means that regular x-rays of the root canal have little impact on the rest of your body. Thus, in Britain, lead vests are rarely used in dental x-rays. And that seems inevitable, because in any case, you need accurate x-rays to treat root canal therapy.
